Gluttony
My desire for you is insatiable
Feeling instant symptoms of withdrawal from seconds of separation
Taking more than my fair share of your time
Never wasting a second
Never letting a morsel of you slip my grasp
Not a moment of you going un-memorized
Lips running marathons on skin
Until we are unsure which tired first
Laughs so long the genesis is forgotten
Limbs circle each other
No one can tell who is holding whom but both agree to let go would be a great waste
We hunger for each other aware we will never get full
The day will not come where we tire of our favorite meal
Each day a new course of well-prepared inside jokes
Dessert not an ending, but the signal that the meal is returning to its starting point and we must get ready
Blanket across my lap
Unwilling to miss a crumb
Counting your hairs like a kid trying to count stars
Or a man who has you trying to count blessings
Knowing that they may never finish
Knowing they will never stop trying
The glory is not in the answer
The glory is in the hunger
